Sri Lanka affected by floods. Its exactly a year passed with floods affecting several areas in Sri Lanka by taking lives of many by the same time period last year in 2016.

With continuous rain, several areas are affected with floods and to be informed that 78 individuals have lost live in this trauma. Media teams have released notes that by now 78 people have lost life as well as 100’s of sri lankan citizens are missing by this flood and rescue teams are working to help, save as well as to search these individuals.

Sri Lankan Navy, Army and other life saving groups and associations have taken lead to travel to those affected areas and help them to survive and relocated people to safe areas. The first entry of flooding was informed to be in Ratanapura. As heavy rains were continuing, other areas were starting to fill.

Some people are stuck in their homes, till life saving boats are reaching near to them. Dams to be opened and released if the water level increases and could not hold the pressure any more where as if so, people will definitely move from all river based areas to safety till situation is under control.

Early warning about floods were noticed and evacuation process were started to avoid loss of lives as with experience to previous year. Even though we gather around united to help each other on this situation and also to add everyone who loss their live in our prayers.

Currently, raining has stopped but not to be confirmed on what shall happen by night. If there wasn’t ample to time in draining all the water that has rise, it will be a threat to carry evacuation process to relocate people in all unsafe areas to dry lands.

Our prayers, towards all Sri Lankans facing the second trauma of the year after a landslide in Kolonnawa, Colombo by a garbage dump.
